Parent Volunteers
|
SJRC is a group of people working together to make rowing
accessible, affordable and fun. We exist due to the wealth of talent and energy
of our rowers and parents.
In order to keep our club operating we need your help throughout the season.
Whether it is a
work party for house and grounds cleanup, coxing, ergometer maintenance,
fundraising or special events, it is the responsibility of every member to
contribute to the enrichment of our organization both on and off the water.
Don't worry about not knowing what to do, we'll teach you! Volunteer and service
opportunities are posted regularly throughout the season.

Organization and Funding
|
All funding comes from member dues, individual and group
fundraising, as well as private and corporate donations. Money is used
primarily for coaching, equipment, and regatta fees.
The William and Sareh Cooper Cup Regatta at the end of April is
our primary fundraising event. |
|
| The food tent |
 |
|
The food tent is the heart of the club. It is our
information center, lost and found, and nutrition replenishing center.
The rowers have come to depend on some very faithful volunteers who
make sure hot food is always present fro the rowers. The rowers
families supplying bagels, donuts, fruit, coffee, hot chocolate, and
water in the early morning. Around noon, it switches gears to hot dogs,
hamburgers, chicken, chili, soup and sandwiches, salads, pasta dishes,
whatever the weather dictates.
Volunteers to help set up the tent and prepare the food are always
needed. A schedule of parental responsibilities will be
established by the Food Committee and posted in the Regatta Schedule
section of the web page.
