Rules and Regulations

In addition to the rules of USRowing, the following rules will apply.  Complete rules of USRowing are available in PDF form on their website www.usrowing.org.

Entry rules

  • Any athlete who is a postgraduate or in his 5th year of high school can not participate.
  • Any student who turns 19 by September 1 of the 2006-2007 school year can not participate.
  • There will be no refunds unless the event is cancelled. Coaches will be notified of event scratches no less than two days before the regatta.
  •  All entries must be accompanied by proper entry fee. 

Regatta rules

  • All crews must check in at the registration desk when they arrive.  At that time they can clean any bars on their entries such as late fees or missing waivers. 
     
    The registration desk will be open at 6:45 am throughout the race day on Sunday.
     
  • Each boat must be equipped with a bow ball and foot release straps.
     
  •  Each team must provide their own bow numbers.
     
  • Athletes can row in no more than two events.

  • Athletes may NOT row in events that are scheduled less than one hour from each other.
  • All high school/junior races will be 2000 meters.
     
  •  Rowers in Novice events must have less than one year of rowing experience.
     
  •  $50.00 cash shall accompany all protest. 
     
  • Coaches & coxswains meeting will take place at 7:00 AM at the finish line.
      
  •  There will be a 20-second equipment breakage rule.

  •  Each crew MUST provide their own bow number for their assigned lane. 

  •  There must be two crews entered or the event will be canceled.

  • All questions of eligibility, qualification, and interpretation of the rules will be referred to the Regatta Committee, whose decisions will be final.  The USRowing Rule Book is the ultimate source for all rulings.

  •  The dock master must be notified of all hot-seat boats before the boat goes out for its first race.

  •  The event schedule is subject to change depending on the number of entries received.

  •  All athletes and coaches are reminded that sportsmanlike conduct is expected from all parties  involved.
