The 2004 Knecht Cup: http://www.villanovarowing.com/knecht/
The 2004 Knecht Cup will be held on Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18, on the Cooper River. This year's regatta will provide competition for over 50 schools from California to Maine, Wisconsin to Florida.

SJRC has committed to assisting with the regatta. This coming weekend it is imperative that all families contribute some volunteer time to make the fundraiser a success, and allow up to live up to our commitment. We need a parent from every family step up to work this weekend.

A sign up chart has been e-mailed to you. Please let Paul know what time frame you will work, and indicate a first and second choice. Slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

A sign up sheet for the rowers will be posted at practice Tuesday, April 13.

Fornos Fundraiser
Lenape is hosting a fundraiser on Monday, April 19, at Forno's Pizzeria and Grill, which is located at 28 Church Road in Maple Shade. If you present the fundraising flyer when you pay your bill, 20% of every purchase (except the "special") will be donated to SJRC. There will also be a Chinese Auction 5-7PM.

Forno's is owned by Aldo Lamberti. They are also associated with the Hampton Inn and other local hotels in the area. They have so far contributed $1000 and free rooms to our club. Thanks for your support to make this a success.

We also have a signed and numbered limited edition print, retail price $100, of PHILADELPHIA WATERWORKS donated to us from Nicholas P. Santoleri who is known for his Boathouse Row paintings. The Philadelphia Waterworks is a print of Fairmount Waterworks and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. We will have a silent auction the night of our fundraiser at Forno's.

Manny Flicks needs volunteers!!

The PSRA needs volunteers to help with the rest of the Manny Flick Series. They are in desperate need of volunteer launch drivers! Without volunteers, the races will not go off as scheduled. Please contact us if you are able to help.

Cell phone recycling
This is an easy way to raise a few hundred dollars, so please keep sending the cell phones in. This activity also helps the environment by keeping rechargeable batteries out of landfills also so hit up your environmentally conscious friends at work or school.

Photos on the web site
SJRC will be requesting parental permission before putting photos on the web site. Forms will be distributed in the near future.

Rigging and Derigging
All boats that we are taking to a race need to be de-rigged and loaded on the trailer. This will happen the night prior to the race. Rowers are expected to stay after practice on Friday or report to the boat yard on Saturday to accomplish this.

On race day we need to: unload boats and re-rig; race; de-rig boats and load trailer.

When the trailer returns to boat yard, the boats need to be unloaded and re-rigged and put on proper racks.
Rowers are expected to return to the boat yard to accomplish this.

In general, the coach will communicate the schedule to the rowers after practice.

If you have any questions about the schedule or your responsibilities, please talk to your school captain.
