The Boathouse denied our request to host the Cooper Cup during 2021 after over 10 years of being a premier high school and club event on the Cooper river, and the only regatta sponsored by a boathouse team. We will try again for 2022.
The Cooper Cup Regatta was started in 2004 , mainly to create an opportunity for sculling boats and Club programs to race locally. As rowing grew so did the regatta, with close to 1,800 competitors racing over the day. The event was originally called the William and Sarah Cooper Cup Regatta, but is now just known as the Cooper Cup.
Varsity have heats and finals
The Cooper Cup Regatta takes place the last Sunday in April (or first Sunday in May depending on the calendar) each spring season. It is a 2,000 meter (1,500 meter Novice events) junior regatta open to all Junior Clubs and Scholastic Programs. The event is held on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, NJ racing both sculling and sweep events to include: 1x, 2x, 4x, 4+ and 8+ on both Women's and Men's side. Registration is all on Regatta Central.
