SJRC's Learn-to-Row program is an introduction to the sport of rowing for middle and high school students (coed) with no prior experience. Each session is one week long and students will learn boat safety, equipment education, land and water training. Athletes will be rowing on the water for the majority of the session.
Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - Noon
Each session is capped at 16 students.
Upon completion of a learn-to-row session, new rowers/coxswains may advance to the Novice or Lightning Crew Camp programs this summer, or join SJRC's upcoming fall program to continue being a part of the team. All athletes must know how to swim and are expected to pass a swim test. Athletes should wear athletic clothes and sneakers (baggy clothes will interfere with equipment). Athletes must bring a refillable water bottle as disposable bottles are not permitted.
SJRC is offering learn-to-row programs for high school and middle school athletes this spring, beginning April 6, 2021. No prior rowing experience is necessary.
